i think i'm too old for blogging....

what does the word "blogging" even mean and where did it come from and when did people start using this word?

and would i really be able to share with the world what i think?

maybe i should change it to private mode...

Blog comes from 'Web log' -- an online diary. See http://www.marketingterms.com/dictionary/blog/ for more info.

Most blogs seem to fall into 3 main categories (categorization from http://denbeste.nu/, but I can't find his post right now). 1) Diary blogs. 2) Link blogs (e.g. http://www.instapundit.com/ which are mainly links to other things. 3) Essay blogs, which are more in-depth original writings.
